About Me
I am an English language educator with three years of experience teaching from upper elementary through secondary, university, and adult learners in Japan. My background includes working in public high schools teaching English as well as culture courses and as an instructor at a private English school, supporting learners from beginner to advanced levels across diverse educational and professional contexts.
My teaching emphasizes clear structure, student-centered instruction, and scaffolded language development to support learner confidence and measurable growth. I actively elicit critical thinking through guided questioning, comparison tasks, and activities that require students to explain, justify, and reflect on language use rather than rely on memorization. My lessons primarily lean on CEFR and International Baccalaureate teaching standards. I also value inclusive classroom practices and adapt lessons to meet varied academic, linguistic, and individual needs.
Beyond day-to-day instruction, I am committed to reflective practice and continuous professional growth. I regularly analyze student performance data, classroom observations, and feedback to refine lesson design and pacing, with a focus on improving speaking fluency and academic language use. Having taught in multilingual and cross-cultural environments, I bring cultural sensitivity and adaptability into my teaching, working collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning goals while maintaining high academic expectations.
